St Patrick’s Party

The Theme Is GREEN!

A St Patrick’s party is held every March 17th in every pub, bar and club in Ireland, America and many in the UK. There is no escaping it, if you throw a St Patrick’s party, you will have to go green in a big way!!! Just ask the people of Chicago who dye their river green every year!

St Patrick’s parties can be one of the easiest and most enjoyable themes to pull off, it’s all really about getting drunk (Guinness of course) listening to Irish folk music while you try and ignore an uncle you don’t really know tell you his life story. It’s the one day of the year where everybody pretends to be Irish!

Here’s what you need to do:

St Patrick’s Party Invitations

Make sure you send out invitations to your guests. They serve to get them in the party mood from an early stage and you can prove you’re serious about going green!

Send your invitations out on cut outs of some of the following:

1. A Shamrock

2. Leprechaun

3. Pot of Gold

4. Pint of Guinness

5. Irish Flag

I would also create a Facebook group! You can use your group to hype up your party as the day approaches. In addition, Facebook groups always increase your attendance rate as everyone will be able to see everyone who is going. If they have friends who’re already attending then they’re much more likely to come too!

St Patrick’s Party Costumes

GREEN, GREEN, GREEN! Charge people on the door if they’re not wearing all green! In fact state that clearly on the Shamrock invitations you send out! The only exception is if you have a “Kiss Me I’m Irish” t-shirt on! Check out the Leprechaun above…They love to party!!! Check out these great quality low priced St Patrick’s Party Costumes! Don’t forget to dye your hair green and paint yourself green.

St Patrick’s Party Decorations

This is quite extensive and limited only by your own imagination. Pick and choose the ones you like from the following list:

1. Chocolate coins for good luck

2. Green plates, napkins, cups and balloons.

3. Green clovers

4. Exchange your current light bulbs for green ones.

5. Green table cloths and beer mats.

6. Grab a large Irish flag and stick it on the wall in pride of place.

7. Also get some green bunting to cover the walls.

Here is where you can get tonnes of St Patrick’s Party Decorations for low prices!

St Patrick’s Party Music

Irish folk music will have the best traditional feel to it with it’s emphasis on violins and flutes. Anything by The Pogues is an ideal place to start and will appeal to all age groups for the St Patrick’s party occasion. I also recommend Fisherman’s Blues by The Waterboys, I just love the song Fisherman’s Blues and your guests deserve to hear it at your party! You may also download some free Celtic Songs here!

However, this has got to be my all time favorite St Patrick’s Party Music!

St Patrick’s Party Food

As long as you use green food dye in your food you should be alright! OK…maybe a slight exaggeration, but there is no excuse for not colouring the icing on your cup cakes green! Corned beef or Irish beef stew are traditional. Though i would make an issue out of being creative with green veg appetizers using asparagus, spinach and other leafy greens. Green jelly for desert or mint ice-cream!

St Patrick’s Party Drinks

This is going to be really easy for you! Just stock up on Guinness and green food dye. Add the two together, though when I tried this it didn’t look as good as I thought it would! I would definitely try adding the dye to champagne or white wine though because that works really well!

Most importantly of all though, ENJOY IT!!! That is what a St Patrick’s party is about after all.
