The task of organizing a stag party usually falls to the best man which I assume must be you! There will be much pressure on you to throw an awesome stag party since this is something that hopefully for the groom will be the only one he’ll ever have. To help you out, I have some awesome Stag Party Ideas below. Enjoy!
1. A common occurrence for stag party’s today is to have them abroad. For Europeans, Tallin is a common destination or Krakow in Poland. For North Americans a common venue is Las Vegas, Atlantic City or even Mexico. You will have to take in to account everybody’s financial situations before deciding if you’re going to jet off and this is one decision you will probably like to keep the groom involved with.
2. Make a Facebook group for your stag party! This way everybody can see who is coming. You can ask everybody what they would like to do and request any upfront monies. You can then even have a secret Facebook group entitled “The Real Stag Party Group” which excludes the groom where you can discuss ways of humiliating him.
3. It is up to you what you will be doing but consider doing something completely different that none of you have done before! Tank driving, bungee jumping, go karting, Golf, clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, kayaking, white water rafting, sumo wrestling, paint balling, ice blocking and rally driving are all crazy and exciting.
4. Make sure you choose an activity that is close to a city with excellent night life! As the number 1 stag party idea I can give you is that you will be drinking throughout the night!
5. It is not uncommon to start planning your stag party a full six months ahead of d-day! There will be much to plan and getting money upfront will make sure that you minimize dropouts later on.
6. Consider a sub theme for your stag party. Having everybody dress as pirates, Olympians, Frenchmen or Golfers will add an extra touch of hilarity.
7. If you don’t go for a sub theme then at least consider having everybody dress in matching t-shirts. Get an image of the groom looking the worse for wear with a catchy caption below.
8. Dedicate somebody to take lots of photos as this is one day in his life (excluding the wedding of course) that he is going to want plenty of photos.
Good luck with your upcoming party, I hope everything goes well! Have fun!

A Mardi Gras Theme Party can be held at any time of the year, though has always traditionally been held on “Fat Tuesday” which is also Shrove Tuesday, the last Tuesday before Lent as an opportunity for one last merriment of fun, music and stuffing ones face with chocolate and alcohol before making the religious fast.
Invitations: As with any party you’re planning on holding in this day and age, I suggest you create a Facebook group for you to invite all your guests. Everybody will be able to see who is coming and this typically increases attendance! You should also send out physical invites maybe in the style of a Mardi Gras mask cut from paper.
Decorations: The traditional Mardi Gras theme party colors are purple, green and gold which represent justice, faith and power. You should endevour to decorate your venue with these colors as much as possible. The easiest way to do this would be to buy balloons. Also you could easily get table cloths and plates in these colors.
Costumes: For costumes at a Mardi Gras theme party, you should try and dress up as outlandishly as possible. In fact I also suggest you take a look at our Masquerade Party Ideas for some inspiration as many people use the same costume for both party themes. You could go for a royalty theme and dress as Louis XVI or Marie Antoinette. How about dressing as a court jester all in green? Or if you have an ideal costume from a former Halloween party then it would easily be transferable for a Mardi Gras theme party. However the most common and obvious type of costume would be drag. Men can dress as women and women can dress as men! This is very common in the French Quarter of New Orleans and for your own private party you could have a prize for the best costume!
Music: Simply go with Blues or Jazz!
Food: The main point behind a Mardi Gras theme party is to binge on what you’re going to be missing out on during Lent. So you should really be eating everything of what you’re going to be missing out on during the coming weeks. Typical Mardi Gras food is Gumbo, Jambalaya, seafood and Bloody Mary’s.
