Italian Party Invitations
You should be creative with your invitations! Send them out on cut outs of anything Italian related! How about a gangster toting a tommy gun or on a little Italian flag! You could send them out on a cut out of a pizza, a soccer, the map of Italy or of a Roman soldier. Simply find an image you like on google images and print it off on card.
You should also definitely start your own Facebook group for your party! This way you’ll be able to get everyone in the mood for it from an early stage and keep them updated on changes etc. When people can see your party is going to be popular, you can typically increase attendance this way.
In addition to this, with your Facebook group, you will be able to upload all the photos and video taken at your party and “tag” everybody in it. This way you’ll have a permanent and lasting reminder of your great day.
Italian Party Costumes
It is of course your costumes that will really get everyone talking and having fun at your party. You should state on your invites that everybody should make an effort with this. Here are some Italian costume suggestions:

4. If you want to make minimal effort, simply buy yourself an Italian Soccer Jersey! All Italians love their national game and the shirts always look surprisingly good on anybody!
Italian Party Decorations
There are many things you can do here to make your room look and feel more Italian. You should try and go to a real effort to spruce your venue up. The most obvious thing you can do would be to get loads of Italian flags, both big and small and hang them from the walls and adorn the tables.
The Italian colors are red, green and white so you should try and have as much of these colors around as possible. If you have table cloths in these colors then overlap them to create a flag table cloth! Grapes are a symbol of Italy, you could have bunches of grapes for decorations and even double them up as appetisers. You should also spread around bottles of olive oil, olives and containers carrying pasta!

Seriously though, Italian food is the best in the world, this is your chance to show off your cooking skills and really go to work on impressing your guests. Start small with fresh bread kept in small wooden baskets! The list of appetizers is endless, consider some of the following; stuffed grape leaves, artichokes with butter sauce, stuffed green olives with cheese, brie and crackers, olives, calamari or minestrone soup!
Italians actually traditionally have an appetizer followed by two smaller main courses (which can get expensive when eating out). So if you want to do it right then you could have a course of pasta followed by fish. Or pasta followed by steak or even more pasta (seriously)! If you want to go to slightly less effort, you could just have Pizza which is quite acceptable and delicious!
Italian Party Drinks
You should have a range of Italian red wine spread on your table for decoration which you can then attack throughout the evening! Italians are famous for wine so make use of this fact!
For after dinner, you should of course have steaming hot Espresso! Don’t think Starbucks when you think Espresso, the amount you get should be minuscule if done correctly and it should jolly well knock your socks off! You’ll get some people who won’t attempt the Espresso, well then you can say to them that Espresso is a fundamental part of Italian life and they should jolly well knock it back!
