Halloween Theme Party
A Halloween theme party is actually quite a large theme that can be further narrowed down into smaller categories. You can if you like have an open Halloween party theme or you can further narrow it down to the likes of movie characters, historical figures, super heroes or the usual monsters for example. It is completely upto the host which Halloween party theme they choose, but what is important is that once the theme is decided upon, it is single mindedly created excluding all other sub themes. For this page though, I will assume that you are going for the more traditional monsters Halloween party theme.
Theme Party Secrets will help you through every step of the planning process to enable you to have as much fun putting your Halloween theme party together as you will have once your guests arrive.
1. Costumes – You don’t really need my advice for a Halloween theme party costume as i’m sure you have seen many as you go shopping and have probably already chosen a favourite. Make sure you state on your invitations that dressing up is essential or otherwise charge your guests on the door!
2. Props – Decorating your place for a Halloween party theme has become as essential as decorating for Christmas. Lanterns or pumpkins should be used to decorate the path leading to your house. Invest in some gargoyles, ghosts, mummies, demons, witches, black cats, vampires, wear wolves and other creatures of the night to spread around your room. Body parts will also add to the atmosphere and keep your guests on edge. Replace your light bulbs with either red, blue or green coloured ones and light plenty of candles around the room also.
3. Music – Some Halloween theme party Music
favourites of mine include Monster Mash, Thriller, Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, People Are Strange and Wearwolves Of London to name but a few.
4. Food – Obviously no Halloween theme party would be complete without sweets…and bucket loads of them, for the kids and adults alike! You should buy or decorate your own cake with a Halloween design. Place your own edible big licorice spider on top. You can get creative with your Halloween party theme food. Mashed potato is easily pliable and can be made into any shaped monster. For your cookies, you can buy monster shaped pastry cutters.
5. Invitations – As well as sending out invitations (which could be on a cut out of your favorite monster) you should also set up a Facebook group in order to invite your guests and remind them of the party as it approaches.
I recommend Theme Party Secrets to ensure you frighten your guests and not yourself when planning and hosting your Halloween theme party.
