There are plenty of things you could do for your invitations! Get some card and cut out invitations in the shape of lederhosen, a beer glass, a beer keg, beer goggles, beer stein or some bratwurst.

Costumes

The costumes are fairly obvious. The guys have to wear full lederhosen meaning leather trousers, which actually only go as far as the knee to be even more ridiculous. You also need suspenders to hold them up, even though i’m sure they’re probably tight enough already! You also need a feathered Alpine hat and knee height socks. Pray you’re not the only one dressing up!

The ladies should go for an Alpine peasant girl look with lacy blouse and tight bodice. If you wish, you can dye your hair blonde and tie it up in pig tails!

Decorations

1. The colors of the Bavarian flag are blue and white. So get plenty of balloons in these colors, tie them together and…you know what to do!

2. Try and make your venue look like a traditional German beer keller or brau haus! The best thing to have would be 1 long wooden table stretching all the way across the room! You could fix several smaller ones together of course.

3. Hang German things from the ceiling! Either cardboard cut outs or the real thing! Steins (German beer mugs), bratwurst, gingerbread men, Wellington boots (actually a British invention but you get the idea), a pair of lederhosen and beer kegs etc.

4. It may be painful, but you can hang the hideous German flag on the walls and put mini versions on the tables!

Get some green, white and red balloons to match the flags. Go to the local garden centre and pick up a cactus or 12. You can also get a big inflatable cactus.

3. Music – The Mexican theme party is all about music and dancing the Samba. Mariachi is the music of Mexico and Luis Miguel (Mexico’s most famous singer) released México en la Piel which i think is great!

4. Food – The food is going to be a big hit at your Mexican theme party. You need to get plenty of taco’s and tortillas and allow your guests to choose their own filling from the chilli, beef, salad and Enchilada sauces.  It’s all about having a variety of Chilli Dishes so that your guests can pick and choose and try different things.

Nobody Can Party Like The Errrr…French!

What better excuse to get together with your friends, eat good food and hurl insults at each other than to have a French theme party? While the thought of the French spending all day chomping on their onion necklaces may be stereotypical, the fact they surrender without a fight and sit around all day eating cheese on French loaf isn’t!

Throwing a French theme party is your chance to show off your skills at slicing cheese into nice little slices, and if you need help with your party planning at any stage and to help you throw the perfect French theme party, I recommend Theme Party Secrets!

When planning your French party theme, consider the following ideas:

1. Costumes – You are going to get a lot of people all dressing up very similar at a French theme party. It’s all for fun, so just think the typical French stereotypes. The guys should go a few days without shaving before the event and probably a week without taking a shower. Get your hands on a nice French beret and a black and white horizontal stripey top. Draw on a thin moustache with a black marker pen. You can easily create yourself an onion necklace, the more onions you can cram on the better! The funny thing is with the French party theme…The ladies get to dress up exactly the same!!! And remember that part of the fun of this event is that you get to act as arrogant as you want!

2. Props – Get yourself a large French flag to hang proudly on the wall. Also get some smaller French flags to pepper around the room. Get plenty of red, white and blue balloons to represent the 3 colours of the French tricolour. I would make a nice table with French food on. If you’re having a French buffet then you can make a display with French wines, French loaf, cheeses, pastries etc. Put plenty of fresh flowers on the table and little models of the Eiffel Tower or the Champs Elysees. Set up an area where guests can have their photos taken with a French backdrop. Consider hiring a mime artist also, these guys are hilarious and they bring their own food. If you’re concentrating more on food and wine then consider having the guy from the local wine store give a demo on French wine. Finally give your guests all a name tag with the French version of their name.

3. Music – The French aren’t known for good music but Cafe De Paris will make your French theme party feel just like you’re sitting in a nice little French cafe.

4. Food – You can either have plenty of small samples of cheese, to be enjoyed with the wine and other treats from the table or you can make a bigger deal out of your French theme party and have plenty of small courses, just like the French. 5. Drink – You need to give each of your guests two glasses, one for red and one for white wine. I suggest you get a wide selection of both to accompany a large selection of cheeses ranging from mild to pungent. Depending on how many guests you have invited, 1 bottle could quite easily be shared amongst 15 people. If you’ve got a wine expert at your French theme party then leave him to do his thing, he will gladly tell your guests all about each wine.

Casino Party Theme

The Casino party theme is extremely popular for office parties and can be held either in a rented casino, hotel or in your office.
